It’s here!! Umbraco 9 has officially been launched!!
After many changes to the Umbraco framework and a lot of hard work by the Umbraco team to make sure that Umbraco 9 could be executed on Microsoft's latest version of .NET, we’re excited to announce the successful launch of Umbraco 9, one of the first .NET 5 (ASP.NET Core) CMS on the market! What does this mean for you? Well, better performance and more scalability! Who doesn't love that?!
If you’re a content editor, you will still have familiarity with the CMS as you did in Umbraco 8. All of the previous tools and features have been carried over to version 9 and the CMS still remains focused on ease of use for editors. If you’re a developer, the options for how you develop and the tools you use (think IntelliSense and Rider) have been expanded and you now have the added benefit of cross platform capabilities too!
This latest release just proves that Umbraco continues to shine and stay pertinent with the latest technology while keeping focus on the content editor experience. We’re looking forward to what the future holds for this CMS and our team is excited to get started spinning up projects on Umbraco 9!
Also, a big shout out to Umbraco HQ and everyone in the Umbraco community for their contributions leading to a successful version 9 launch! Congratulations!!
